Carl and Dan, Saturday 14th September 2024 , Wedding at Copdock Hall
Some weddings just have that feeling from the moment you arrive. The excitement, the laughter, the people who genuinely can't wait to celebrate together. Carl and Dan's wedding at Copdock Hall was exactly that.
Set amongst the stunning Suffolk countryside, Copdock Hall provided the perfect backdrop for a day filled with love, happy tears, sunshine, and plenty of unforgettable moments.
The day began under glorious blue skies at Copdock Hall. Guests gathered in the beautiful courtyard, enjoying drinks and catching up before the ceremony. The atmosphere was relaxed from the very start, with everyone soaking up the late summer sunshine.
Before the ceremony, I took a few moments to photograph the wedding rings, capturing them in the natural light streaming through the venue. Simple, elegant details that would become part of a much bigger story.
Inside the beautifully restored hall, guests took their seats beneath the warm glow of hanging lights and exposed brickwork. The setting felt intimate and welcoming, perfectly reflecting Carl and Dan's personalities.
Then came the moment everyone had been waiting for.
As Carl and Dan stood together exchanging vows, you could see just how much the day meant to them. There were smiles, emotional glances, and more than a few happy tears from family and friends watching on.
The ceremony was heartfelt, joyful, and completely focused on celebrating their relationship surrounded by the people they love most.
After saying "I do", the newlyweds were greeted by cheers, bubbles and confetti as they made their way outside as husbands.
The Suffolk sunshine continued to make an appearance throughout the afternoon, allowing guests to enjoy drinks in the courtyard and gardens while everyone relaxed and celebrated together.
These candid moments are often some of my favourites to photograph. Friends laughing together, family catching up, spontaneous hugs, and those little interactions that tell the real story of the day.
There was even a very well-behaved four-legged guest making an appearance during the drinks reception, much to everyone's delight.
One of the things that makes Copdock Hall so special is its beautiful vineyard. As the afternoon light softened, we took a little time away from the celebrations for some portraits amongst the vines. Nothing overly posed or formal, just Carl and Dan enjoying a few quiet moments together. The vineyard offered a stunning backdrop, with rows of greenery creating a beautiful setting for photographs that felt natural and timeless.
Back at the reception, the celebrations continued with drinks, conversations and lots of laughter.
The evening reception brought everyone back together inside the hall, where the celebrations continued long into the night. As the lights dimmed and the music started, the dance floor quickly filled. From energetic dance moves to spontaneous singalongs and a packed conga line, the evening was full of fun. Guests threw themselves into the celebrations and made the most of every moment. There were plenty of unforgettable scenes throughout the night, from friends dancing together to family members showing off their best moves.
It was the perfect ending to an incredible day.
